Sanctus – In her final Christmas message as President of Sanctaria, Marian Woodstrom has thanked Sanctarians for their support and loyalty over the last decade. Woodstrom, who recently announced she would not be contesting the upcoming April 2022 presidential election, said that representing Sanctaria as President has been the greatest honour of her life, and not one she will ever forget.
Her speech, broadcast at 9am Sanctus time on Christmas morning, also touched on some of the important themes of her presidency, including community, international development, and charity. She encouraged Sanctarians to continue building on her work in these areas long after she left office, and that she believes “every Sanctarian has a heart of gold and a inclination towards helping those less fortunate”.
Woodstrom also mentioned the upcoming election briefly, wishing the yet-to-announce candidates all the best and saying that “to serve Sanctaria as President is the most important job you will ever have. Consider carefully if you think you are able to devote yourself to the role. Anything less is a disservice to the good people of Sanctaria”.
Signing off, Woodstrom wished all Sanctarians a “peaceful” Christmas and a “prosperous” New Year. Chancellor Charlene Hendry will give the traditional New Year’s message on New Years Eve later this month.
