The Xiomeran government announced today that it has successfully tested a new ballistic missile that it claims has the ability to reach any target within the IDU.
The XB-30 ICBM, dubbed the “Xiuhtecuhtli” after the Huenyan god of fire, has a reported range of 18,000 km (11,000 mi) and a potential payload of 10–15 MIRVs. The missile is designed to elude anti-missile defense systems with a short initial boost phase, giving enemy surveillance systems a tiny window to track it.
“Many nations around the IDU are using inflammatory rhetoric about challenging Xiomera. They believe their distance from us makes them invulnerable. This is clearly not the case anymore. Therefore, we would encourage the leaders of such nations to think twice about the language they use, as well as their intent towards Xiomera,” Prime Minister Toquihu said at a press conference announcing the successful missile test.
