Inwaukosuwuk, Whetosonghnee – At 1:00pm this afternoon, various Whetosonghnean Army Units reported taking fire from Eikan positions near the DMZ. This was in addition to reports by the Whetosonghnean airforce of engagement with Eikan aircraft which had violated the nation’s airspace. The town of Hokwau, near the border with Eikangard, has suffered under sudden artillery strikes. Casualties have alreadybeen reported by local authorities.
Army units nearby have already begun engaging the Eikans, who have in turn begun advancing across the line of contact. Tanks and artillery have been exchanging gunfire with their Eikan counterparts. Infantry have begun digging in. Attempts by our reporters to interview soldiers on the ground have been so-far rebuffed, citing the current situation and lack of safety.
A state of emergency has been declared across the nation. The central government has announced a general evacuation of the northwestern territories, ordering citizens to make their way southeast. Citizens in other regions, or citizens in the evacuation zone who cannot flee, are advised to shelter in place and listen to the advice of local authorities.
