A controversial new album raises questions about Joseph Chavez

Lil ISJ, who had been serving a multi-year sentence for conspiracy to sell illicit drugs, released his first album in a decade with “My Truth.” ISJ, whose real name is Luis Estevez Jr., is a big name in the underground and Jalencalle music scene. However, the most interesting component is ISJ alleging the influence of his cousin, Prime Minister and major presidential candidate, Joseph Chavez.

In his first song, for which the album is named, Lil ISJ raps over a dark piano beat, speaking of childhood as the son of the famed criminal boss Luis Estevez. Additionally, Estevez Jr describes how his cousin, whom he calls “Joe” would push him into drug dealing and crime. As the album continues, we settle into the more emblematic party-style that has defined the genre. Yet in each song, there are references to this character of Joe, who is a negative influence. In the final song of the album, which includes a feature from the pop singer Lena G, Estevez Jr gives us a detailed look at how this character of Joe really is. Over a soulful sound and an emotional verse by Lena G, Estvez explores how his time in prison changed him, and yet his cousin “didn’t help out”.

Since the album’s release last week, My Truth has reached the top of the charts in Slokais despite relatively little buzz before release on social channels. Speaking on SIBC Radio, Lil ISJ confirmed a popular theory of “Joe” being Joseph Chavez, who has been linked to Luis Estevez back in 2017, via a series of private invesgations by Chavez’s political rivals in the Center Party. “I won’t be silent, I’ll keep telling my truth and my story, no matter if the people involved are my friends or the Prime Minister”. Politcal opponents have clambered to chime in with Manny Bisok, the frontrunner for the New Right nomination claiming he would jail Joseph Chavez.
“I am the Lawman, and we have all the evidence we need” Bisok said reffering to his title as a professional wrestler.

Joseph Chavez or anyone from the Prime Minister’s Office has not commented on the album, yet some have commented song lyrics can easily be fabricated and Lil ISJ may be seeking attention to his album. Regardless, the album is another pin an a unstable Presidential bid with Chavez polling at 44% in the National Alliance Primary well below the wide margins he achieved in 2022. This may be due to voter fatigue and a sense of in-action and allegations of corruption against much of the Slokasian political establishment.
