Ben Bo Bien, Doi Nam – Chaos reigned in downtown Ben Bo Bien as a car bomb detonated near one of Phantasiums campaign rallies. With overcrowding at the event, the bomb killed 251 people and injured hundreds more. Phantasium himself managed to survive the attack, and was escorted away by security, despite his want to stay at the event. He was later seen helping tend to survivors.
This represents the most deadly attack in Doi Nam in the last 35 years.
Phantasium himself expressed his deepest condolences in an emotional video uploaded to his social media accounts. “I am deeply sorry to the families of those who died.” Stated Phantasium, visibly holding back tears. “Words cannot bring back those lost to us. There are no words that can express my regret as to the attack today. I can only wish those families the best moving forward, and that my heart mourns as theirs do. To those injured, I wish them a speedy and full recovery. Rest assured that I will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
President Vuong had a much different take. “This is simply the result of the subversive ideologies championed by Phantasium. We represent stability and order, while he represents chaos and violence. He says he wishes to find those responsible for the violence and the loss of life. He says he wants to bring them to justice. Perhaps he should look in a mirror and enact his ‘justice’ upon himself.”
