Ben Bo Bien, Doi Nam – An expected result came out of Doi Nam today as President Vuong announced his victory with a landslide 89% of the vote. Phantasium, despite being on the ballot, only gained a reported 0.9% of the vote. Less than the other, legacy opposition groups that were also in the running. In a major speaking event, President Vuong praised the voting public for making the “right choice”.
Phantasium, and other opposition groups, have however refused to accept the results. They claim that they were not privy to any of the official documentation regarding election results. As such, Phantasium himself has been rather outspoken of his view that the election was illegitimate and called on the Doinamese people to demand a second election with greater transparency.
President Vuong countered by calling the allegations “patently absurd” and outright refused holding a second election. “The election was fair and the people of Doi Nam made their choice. The correct choice.” Said President Vuong. “They chose stability, prosperity, and peace. They rejected Phantasium’s chaos, subversion, and violence. There is no need for another pointless election. The people have already spoken, choosing a leader with a proven track record of brilliant leadership.”
