SEIMEI: The Government of Misumi has announced that they are in the process of deploying troops to Taragai in support of government forces, just minutes after Xiomera announced their deployment. The decision, undoubtedly caused by the earlier announcement, is expected to immediately shift the balance of power in the conflict, and assuages concerns of an easy and immediate Xiomeran victory in the conflict.
While no indication has been publicly announced about Misumi’s military strategy, it is expected that they will try to shore up key government controlled cities in the east of the nation, and will aid in the fortification of Bor-Öndör, the capital. The key port city of Khatgal, along with the larger cities in the eastern plains such as Tünel and Rashaant, are all likely to host garrisons of Mizu troops. The Mizu government has confirmed that the first troops have already crossed the Shimo Mountains, and are currently in Taragaian territory.
Misumi has a long history of interventionism, and influential leaders like Chiyoko Onishi made it a core part of their foreign policy. However, Prime Minister Yuko Kuroda, although of the same party as many of the titans of interventionism, has taken a softer approach to foreign policy, declining to get entangled in either the Second Lauchenoirian Civil War or in the Second Xiomeran Civil War. However, direct Xiomeran intervention in a neighboring country was likely a bridge too far, and there was likely immense pressure to decisively react.
The Times-Courier will continue to provide updates about the unfolding situation in Taragai.
