A year ago, those outside the world of Slokasian professional wrestling would have likely asked this very same question. Yet now, the candidate who is commonly referred to as Manny Bisok or simply “Bisok” by the media and his supporters is making a name for himself.
Manny was born in the rural farming community of Santi Ranjoko to a family of eight siblings. According to the All-Slokais Wrestling (ASW) website, he fought a snake at 7 years old with his bare hands. This story is just one example of how the line between character and the actual Manny Bisok is unclear. In public, he is a macho man dressed in a custom-fitted samrok (dress shirt) who flexes for the camera; he is also the no-nonsense Director for Public Safety for Ambonar Province, a unique position. In the role, Bisok had tackled everything from drug trafficking to corruption, and even by those who don’t support him has been fairly effective, with a 35% decrease in violent crime from 2020 to 2025. As Manny Bisok explained at a rally earlier this year, this work led him to consider a run for higher office: “I could sadly do only so much; I would send a criminal over to the Feds, and suddenly he would be stuck in a web of red tape”. This idea of federal bureaucracy being a burden not only to justice but to other areas as well is essentially what Bisok stands for.
The other major area of policy ties into Manny Bisok’s other identity as a proud Revivalist, a Christian (that fact is disputed by many academics) group which focuses itself within the Ambonar region traditionally. In his own words, “Revivalism is the one truth, the one Church, and the one way forward”. Bisok believes that modern cultural standards, the outlawing of religious law in 2002, and the Minjian deep state are to blame for all problems in Slokais today. The New Right Party, for which Bisok is running, has always favored the conspiracy-driven, yet unlike his predecessors, Bisok has something: his second last name, Samrajrong.
Despite the image of a farm-boy turned police officer turned social crusader, Manny Bisok is an elite. He married into the Ambonar Royal Family in 2010 with his wife Eve Samrajrong herself being the third daughter of Sri Hanni Samrajrong II, and was unable to hold the throne herself as a woman. Immediately, Manny was elevated socially with increased brand deals, increased investments, and also an increased role in the Ambonar Church of God at the behest of his father-in-law. Bisok now gets royal protection and access to the royal land trusts (the last of their kind in Slokais). He also has multiple homes, a stake in Ambonar United FC of the Slokasian Premier League, luxury cars and watches galore, and Bisok’s favorite hobby: a collection of guns. Bisok has turned what could be a mark against him into propaganda for him; even before his Presidential run he had become a prolific podcaster and live streamer in which he would show off weapons, blow up cars taken from drug traffickers, and other exploits that blurred the lines of corruption and misuse of funds.
Electorally speaking, he has been viewed as a serious challenge. While his lack of support among Minjian voters will cost him votes in some areas, his populist message could win working-class voters across the country. Strangely enough, with Joseph Chavez out of the race besides Socialist-Labor which appeals to a small band of union voters there is no one for the working-class voters. Julie Allende is viewed as elitist and out of touch; Joshua Lesmondo still needs to make his name known; David Contreras of the Conservatives is a rich tech elite. This has become a concern for many, including Joseph Zhang, who has stated that since he was not running for President, he would want his supporters to “vote for anyone but Bisok” in the first round and that in a second round “whoever has the best chance of stopping him”. This sentiment has been echoed by Joshua Lesmondo, who called Bisok “a threat to reasonable democracy” due to his plans to slash funding for the Ministry of the Environment as well as a laundry list of other programs.
In classic Manny Bisok fashion, he views the fear people have as “proof we are pulling the roots, as the branches are shaking”, one of many trademark metaphors that fly from his mouth. In his eyes, there is a grand conspiracy, although ironically some have accused him of being part of a conspiracy. That being the “de-unification” of Slokais. Conversations and connections with several prominent voices of the de-unification have occurred, although Bisok himself rarely talks about it. In fact, one of his great criticisms is that he doesn’t have a very deep set of policies. While candidates such as Joshua Lesmondo or David Contreras have policy pages on hundreds of topics readily available for purchase or viewing (a popular tool of fundraising in Slokaisian politics). Manny Bisok has t-shirts, action figures, hunting rifle decals, and energy drinks available for purchase. That alone essentially answers who Manny Bisok Samrajrong truly is.
